Haryana and Argentina likely to collaborate in irrigation, livestock

Haryana Government and Argentina has discussed issues of collaboration in the areas of agricultural mechanisation, irrigation, animal husbandry and livestock.

The issues were discussed during a meeting held under the chairmanship of Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, OP Dhankar at Argentina.

Dhankar, who is leading a high level State delegation to Argentina, held a meeting with Ambassador of India to Republic of Argentina, Sanjiv Ranjan.

After the meeting, the Minister said that Argentina has also evinced keen interest in mutual cooperation in research and development programme in agriculture and allied activities as well as student exchange programme.

In another meeting with representatives of Government of Argentina, the Minister informed that Haryana and Argentina will sign a Memorandum of Understanding during World Union of Wholesale Markets (WUWM) Conference to be held in October 2018.

Areas of mutual cooperation in Silo bag technology, soil health management for storage technology, intermediate service crops, dairy and livestock sex semen technology, university students exchange programme, grain storage were also discussed in the meeting.
