POKHARA: Citing that the uncontrolled protests and programmes hindered everyday life of denizens, the District Administration Office, Syangja has decided to allow protests and demonstrations in five specific areas in the district.

According to Chief District Officer, Mahesh Acharya, the DAO has taken a decision to this effect after receiving complaints from locals. The District Security Committee which oversees the Home Ministry’s Home Administration Reform Work Plan  has declared five areas for carrying out protests and other public events, added Acharya.

The locals will be allowed to organize protests and events at City Hall, Bus Park and Malebagar Playground and Agriculture Campus’s premises.

The CDO further said that actions would be taken against those who defy the rule and carry out protests or events in other areas than those specified by the committee.
