The Haryana government has made international shooter Gauri Sheoran as brand ambassador for its Measles and Rubella (MR) vaccination campaign.
According to the state government, around 80 lakh children -- in the age group of nine months to 15 years -- would be covered under this campaign.
Eleven medical mobile units were also flagged off by the chief minister at the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Khattar congratulated state's Health Minister Anil Vij as well as officers of central government and state health department for this initiative, and said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched a number of campaigns for the bright future of country's youth.
He further added that immunisation services has improved considerably in the state claiming that Haryana has brought down its infant mortality rate by 6 points from 43 per 1,000 live births 2016 to 37 per 1,000 live births at present.
Under this campaign, the government proposes to eliminate measles and control rubella in the country by year 2020.
