A woman who was assaulted and blacked out ended up at a Mt. Pleasant emergency room at first unwilling to say who hit her and where it happened.
But she eventually admitted the attack happened in Mecosta County and that her ex-husband did it.
“The victim would not admit who assaulted her originally,” said Jeff Browne, public information officer for the Mt. Pleasant Police Department. “But after a while (she) admitted that her ex-husband had committed the assault. The ex punched the victim in the side of the head.”
The woman told police she blacked out and the next thing she remembered as hiding in a snow-filled ditch.
Police were called to McLaren Central Michigan hospital just after 1 a.m. Monday to talk to the woman.
