V Narayanasamy today expressed concern over the rise in number of cases in the and said the FCCs should play an effective role in ensuring peace and mutual understanding among couples.

Handing over certificates to functionaries of the Family Counselling Centres (FCCs) on the concluding day of the two day refresher course, the asked them to go into the actual causes of

Announcing a hike in honorarium for Protection officers affiliated to FCCs, to Rs 10,000 from the present Rs 7000, Narayanasamy said the FCCs should spread out their activities in rural areas.

Functionaries of some of the FCCs including those from Karaikal region referred to the successful settlement of disputes in families who brought to their notice domestic violence and also disputes over properties.
