Gahanna police recently advised a resident about proper protocol after receiving a 911 call concerning his lawn.

A Forestwood Drive resident dialed 911 because a lawn company that services his neighbor's yard blows debris into his yard, according to a complaint received at 1:48 p.m. April 18. He said it's an ongoing issue.

He said he attempted to make contact with the business and they shouted at him and allegedly threatened him. Police gave the resident a card and was given the direct number to dispatch in case he wants to make complaints like this in the future, reports said.

* A man accidentally locked himself in the bathroom of a South Hamilton Road restaurant and couldn't get out, according to a report received at 4:26 p.m. April 18. Mifflin fire was able to make entry, according to reports.

* A Quitman Drive East resident reported a stray-cat problem in the area at 10:48 a.m. April 18. Police advised parties on that street to stop feeding the stray cats, reports said.

* An aggressive opossum attacked a resident's dog in a fenced backyard on North Stygler Road, according to a complaint received at 10:15 p.m. April 17. The caller shot it with a BB gun but was uncertain if it was dead and requested an officer.

* Police were flagged down on North Hamilton Road about a possible tax scam, according to a complaint received at 5:21 p.m. April 17.

* A bank on Granville Street called to receive assistance in getting a man to leave the business, according to a report received at 10:43 a.m. April 17. The man is the husband of a woman who was trying to open her own account. He was angry about it, reports said. There was a strong language barrier, but a translator said the husband threatened his wife at their apartment in Columbus the previous night. She was told to call Columbus police if problems occur at home, reports said.

* A Stoneridge Drive business reported someone tried to pass a fraudulent $100 bill, according to a report received at 4:02 p.m. April 16.

* A caller advised three cars pulled in Pizzuro Park, 700 Pizzuro Park Drive, and went all the way to the back of the park, turned around and left, according to a complaint received at 11 a.m. April 15. The caller thought that seemed odd and wanted police to check it out. The same caller advised another car had done the same as the previous vehicles, reports said.

* A woman reported a friend was throwing rocks at her bedroom window at Gahanna Crossing Apartments, 135 S. Stygler Road, according to a report received at 2:15 a.m. April 15. She wanted him to leave, reports said.

* A BMX bicycle was reported stolen from the garage of a Waybaugh Drive residence, according to a report received at 4:40 p.m. April 14. It was stolen within the last few days, reports said.

* A bicycle was reported stolen from the Hunters Ridge Pool, 341 Harrow Boulevard, according to a report received at 10:19 p.m. April 13.

* Vehicles were reported speeding through the school zone on Helmbright Drive near Middle School South, 349 Shady Spring Drive, according to a traffic complaint received at 2:41 p.m. April 13.

* A disturbance was reported at Pizzuro Park, 700 Pizzuro Park Drive, because a dog urinated on a man and he allegedly was making threats, according to a report received at 11:23 a.m. April 13.

* Some homeless people stayed overnight in Friendship Park, 150 Oklahoma Ave., and left personal property and caused some damage, according to a report received at 8:49 a.m. April 12.
