The Cecil County Sheriff's Office is looking for a 19-year-old they now believe on Saturday shot three people, killing one of them.

Police are hunting for Jalil Tyrese Miller, who lives in the 300 block of Fletchwood Road, just over the Delaware-Maryland line near Fletchwood Community Park where the shooting occurred Saturday around 6:30 p.m.

Deputies responded to the park after the shooting was called in, but the victims already had been taken by a private car to Union Hospital in Elkton, according to Cecil County Sheriff's Office Spokesman Lt. Michael Holmes.

A 23-year-old Elkton area resident and an 18-year-old from California were hit, but sustained only non-life threatening wounds.

Perry Glenn Lotts Jr., a 23-year-old from the Elkton area, died at the hospital. He was described by people who knew him as a father who avoided the kind of lifestyle that would put him at risk of being shot down, even though that was what ended his life.

The shooting occurred while the park — a playground, pavilion and basketball court which serves the surrounding community — was full of people, residents said. It was not immediately clear what the motive was for the shooting, but may have occurred during a basketball game, residents said.

One person, there at the time of the shooting but unwilling to share his name, said Saturday was just "a good day that went wrong."

Miller, described by police as an armed and dangerous 6-foot-7-inch tall man, is wanted for one count of second-degree murder and various other felonies. Police have asked anyone who knows his location to call the Cecil County Sheriff's Office.
