Market Update: CNX Pharma falls 1% dragged by Aurobindo Pharma, GAIL, ONGC top losers; Airtel top gainer

The market breadth was in favour of the declines with 553 stocks advancing while 1150 declined and 345 remained unchanged. On the other hand, in the BSE, 864 stocks advanced and 1653 declined and 150 remained unchanged.

The Indian equity market continued trading on a negative note on Wednesday afternoon with the Nifty shedding 65 points was trading at 10,549 while the Sensex was down 168 points or 0.49 percent.

Nifty realty index was outperforming the broader indices, gaining close to 1 percent led by Brigade Enterprises which zoomed over 11 percent followed by Indiabulls Real Estate which added 3 percent. Oberoi Realty, HDIL and DLF were the other gainers.

CNX Pharma was also trading weak, down almost 1 percent dragged by Aurobindo Pharma and Cipla, each shedding over 2 percent while GSK Pharma and Glenmark Pharma were the other losers.

The top Nifty gainers included Bharti Airtel which was up 3.4 percent followed by Mahindra & Mahindra and TCS which added 1 percent each. Coal India and UltraTech Cement were the other gainers.

The most active Nifty stocks included Tata Consultancy Services followed by ICICI Prudential Life, Bharti Airtel, Mindtree and NIIT Tech.

The top Nifty losers were GAIL India which was down 2.8 percent followed by Grasim Industries, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation, Hindalco Industries and Vedanta.

The top BSE gainers included Indiabulls Ventures which zoomed 10 percent while L&T Infotech added 8 percent. Raymond and Religare Enterprises were the other gainers.

38 stocks hit fresh 52-week high including Ashok Leyland, Cyient, Indiabulls Ventures, Mahindra & Mahindra, Mindtree, Mphasis and Zydus Wellness among others.
