BETHEL — Officials will again discuss the almost $889,000 overrun in the police station project at a meeting Wednesday.
The Board of Finance will consider the selectmen’s recommendation to use about $889,000 from the fund balance cover the overrun in the $13.5 million budget. The additional funding is needed to complete the firing range, purchase new furniture and finish landscaping.
Public comment will be permitted.
The project exceeded its $13.5 million budget, in part because plumbing and HVAC work was more costly than officials estimated. Building committee members and Downes Construction Co. have blamed the poor estimates on a tough construction market.
The meeting is at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Meeting Room A of the municipal center.
