A 30-year-old was arrested on charges of operating a meth lab while seated in a car.

An officer pulled over a car at 2:20 a.m. Sunday for failure to signal, in Magnolia, Master Cpl. Michael Austin of Delaware State Police said.

Ashley N. Lane, 25 of Rehoboth pulled over on Fox Hollow Drive. The officer discovered she and the passenger, Sarah C. Bell, 30 of Hartly, had warrants out for their arrest, Austin said.

A search of the car led police to find materials used to manufacture meth, Austin said, tracing back to Bell.

Bell was making one pot of meth while Lane was driving, Austin said.

Because of the hazardous and combustible nature of the chemicals in the process, the Department of Natural Resources also worked on the investigation, Austin said.

The one pot meth lab was rendered safe without incident, police said.

Bell was charged with unlawfully operating a clandestine lab and then committed to the Dolores J. Baylor Women's Correctional Institution in lieu of $10,000 secured bail.

Lane was released on $300 unsecured bail after being charged with failure to signal, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia.
