Second round of Centac counselling begins

List to be published once seats are allotted

The second round of counselling for PG medical and dental courses began on Tuesday. The Centralised Admission Committee (Centac) announced that students can choose from the vacant seats available in the medical and dental institutions in Puducherry.

Centac Coordinator (Admission) Rudra Goud said that the students can start remitting the fee for the courses they choose and block their allotted seats. “The students will be given two to three days time to remit the fees. It will be a cautionary deposit. If the students fail to take the seats, the fee will be forfeited,” he said.

He added that the list would be published after the allotment of seats.

In the first round of counselling, out of the 147 students who were allotted seats through Centac, only 25 paid their fees.

Meanwhile, the government said that the request for re-fixation of fee structure by private medical institutions for the postgraduate medical and dental courses has been rejected. They have directed the institutions to ensure strict compliance of the government order, failing which stringent action will be taken against them for non-compliance of the government order and for committing contempt of the Supreme Court’s orders.
