Indian River School District end of school year date changed

The date for the end of the school year has been changed in the Indian River School District.

At the April 23 Indian River Board of Education meeting, the board voted to move the end of the school year to Thursday, June 7, according to a release.

The last day for preschool students will now be Friday, June 1. The last day for teachers and paraprofessionals will now be Monday, June 11.

The changes are a result of the district not using surplus hours into the calendar to compensate for weather-related school cancellations.
