Indian culture set to dominate world, says Harsh Vardhan

Union tourism and cultural affairs Minister Harsh Vardhan said that Indian culture which is spreading fast  across the world is all set to dominate the global cultural space in the coming days. He commented this  while inaugurating the two- day cultural fest which started at the Baltic Centre at Dev Sanskriti Vishwa Vidyalaya (DSVV) on Monday. The ambassador of Latvia in India Evris Groja and the chancellor of Latvian University Marsis Ojins were among the eminent dignitaries present during the inaugural function.

Speaking on the occasion, the chancellor of DSVV Pranav Pandya said that  there is no better way for fostering world peace than through uniting the people of the world through a unifying culture. He stressed on the role India’s ancient language Sanskrit can play in the cultural cohesion of the world.

While folk dance group Saime from Music and Art Support, Foundation, Riga, vocal group Vilki, Riga and the group representing  the department of music of Dev Sanskriti Vishwa Vidyalaya presented the folk performances SAIME would again perform on the second day of the event with the theme being the Latvian traditional and newly- created folk dances.
