Bike thief’s penchant for a specific brand

The city police on Tuesday discovered thieves have preferences too after 10 bikes of the same manufacturer were found in his possession.

Forty-year-old B. Dilip Kumar picked locks on bikes to steal and later sell them. He was arrested and convicted for thefts committed in 2016 but continued to steal two-wheelers. When police recovered the bikes from his possession, they found that all vehicles were of ‘Hero’ make.

“It appears he had a preference for a certain brand of bikes which he was comfortable stealing,” said Kacheguda Assistant Commissioner of Police J. Narasaiah.

Kumar was arrested after he was exposed on CCTV camera footage stealing two bike in Osmania University Police Station limits.
