Cops draft traffic plan for V-P visit

Dehradun police have drafted a traffic plan in view of the Vice- President Venkaiah Naudu’s Uttarakhand visit on April 24/25. The vice president is slated to attend the convocation at Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy on April 25.

Traffic would be diverted on various routes from Dehradun airport to Raj Bhawan on Tuesday and also on Wednesday.

On Tuesday when the fleet of VVIPs would depart from the airport at Jolly Grant the movement of the vehicles from Bhaniyawala to Jolly Grant would be stopped and the heavy vehicles would be diverted towards Haridwar.

Vehicles going from Rishikesh to Jolly Grant would be stopped 500 metres away from Jolly Grant crossing 20 minutes before the VVIP movement. Heavy vehicles going towards Haridwar from ISBT would follow the routes as Kargi Chowk and Mothorowala Chowk and would be diverted towards Dudhli.

Vehicles going to Jogiwala from Ring Road side would follow the routes as Pulia number 6 and Raipur Thano and would be diverted towards Ranipokhari. The heavy vehicles from Haridwar for Dehradun would be stopped at Laltappar. Heavy vehicles going Haridwar from Dehradun city would follow the routes as Pulia 6, Ladpur and Raipur while the vehicles from Doiwala Chowk would be diverted towards Dudhli/ Mothorowala. During  the VVIP programme, the movement of heavy vehicles from ISBT, Vikasnagar, Laltappar and Rishikesh would be stopped from plying along  the VVIP routes. No heavy vehicle would be allowed towards Dharmpur from Fountain Chowk. When the fleet of VVIPs would reach Mohkampur the vehicles would be stopped at Vidhan Sabha crossing, Rispana, Nehru Colony crossing, Hill palace, Mathurawala crossing, Mata Mandir Road, Dhobi Crossing, Negi Crossing, Araghar T junction and Araghar crossing.

Zero zone has been made from Araghar to Dilaram Chowk to Raj Bhawan. Traffic routes would be diverted from Raj Bhawan to FRI on Wednesday while zero zone would be enforced  for  10 minutes before and after departure of VVIP cavalcades.
