A lot of the land has been left natural. They allow ranching, and farming, and control burns, but the ranchers have tried to preserve as much of the open land as possible. Making good on promises made at a series of community meetings, the developer of Babcock Ranch has offered to sell 2,250 coveted acres to Lee County's 20/20 program. The land now is used for ranching and other farming. Wildlife can be seen foraging around the land.
