For people pressed for time, a longtime Wichita Falls dry cleaners has a modern a solution.
Owner Brian Hooker said the former Comet Cleaners changed their name to Pressed Dry Cleaners to mark an updated system.
Customers can now download the Pressed Dry Cleaners app and schedule a free pick-up and delivery of dry cleaning to their home or office.
App users can expect next-day service. Those still seeking services in-store can usually same day completion.
The three Pressed locations were also outfitted with the latest dry-cleaning equipment, making the system more environmentally friendly.
The Market Street Plaza location – an older building, according to Hooker – was redesigned for a more efficient use of the space.
An improved ventilation system aids heating and cooling, which helps keep customers and staff more comfortable.
More environmentally friendly chemicals mean water from machines can be drained without special treatment.
Most of Pressed's machines are now touch-screen based making easier personalization of each batch.
One thing that stays the same though, Hooker said, is their dedicated longtime employees, commitment to customer service and focus on being of service to the community.
Dusty Sternadel and his family lost nearly everything in a house fire. Pressed was able to clean the family’s smoke infused clothes free of charge.
“We were happy to save at least that for the family,” Hooker said.
Pressed also offers free cleaning of flags, as well as military and student discounts.
The new app-based system was integrated into the company’s current computer system.
Each item is outfitted with a bar code that tells staff who the item belongs to, how many times the person has dry cleaned with Pressed, identification of the item and preferences.
Hooker said some customers have already used the new pickup and delivery feature, and they are pleased with the service.
