Tirupur: Following allegations of irregularities in the sale of fuels in petrol bunks, Tirupur collector K S Palanisamy has directed district supplies officer to conduct an inquiry into the issue.
The move comes on a petition lodged by Samuga Aarvalargalin Kootamaippu. “There are reports that the petrol bunks are involved in cheating customers. A customer had recently fought with the employees of a petrol bunk after the latter tampered with the unit to compromise on the quantity of fuel sold. So, the district administration should intervene to ensure that such irregularities do not happen again,” the petition read.
Following this, the collector directed the district supplies officer, P K Peritya Thambi, to conduct an inquiry into the issue and submit a report.
