CS reviews project implementation at Panchayat level

Chief Secretary Ajay Singh on Monday chaired a meeting to review the implementation of projects at the Gram Panchayat level during the Gram Swaraj Campaign at the Mantralaya here.

Notably, the State’s Gram Swaraj Campaign is implementing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s seven key projects in 346 Gram Panchayats in 14 districts of Chhattisgarh, officials informed.

Gram Sabhas in the State are a part of Gram Swaraj Mission. The villagers will be informed regarding the malnourishment levels of each Anganwadi centres in the panchayats.

Social workers, Balmitra, Anganwadi Mitra, youth volunteers, Mitanins, Anganwadi workers, social activists will be awarded commendation certificates. Experts will give their views on malnourishment at the Gram Sabhas.

The Directorate of Panchayat officials said that the District Collectors had been informed to strictly follow the guidelines issued by the State Government. The sabhas should be held in all the villages. Time schedule should be drafted and meetings should be held in all the gram panchayats. Sarpanch and gram panchayat secretary should attend the meetings.

The circular also mentions that officers and employees should be allotted special responsibility according to the local needs.

The topics of discussion had also been given in detail - review of incomes, developmental works undertaken, revenue generated, sanctioned budget, expenditure, status of various developmental works. The public will be informed about all the activities of the gram panchayats.

There will be review of toilets constructed as a part of the ‘Swachhta’ mission, employment provided under the NREGA and wages distributed in the villages.

The officers also informed that there will be social audits of pension schemes. There will be review of distribution books to the villages under the Swami Atmanand Library Project. Distribution of nutritious food to children at anganwadi centres, status of malnutrition, vaccination schemes. The villagers will be given updates regarding the summer diseases, Dengue and Filariasis.

The State Agriculture Department officials will inform the gathering that the remains of crops should not be burnt in the agricultural fields. Drinking water facility, collection of taxes, minor forest produce procurement, royalty on villages minerals, public distribution system functioning, the number of beneficiaries, births-deaths and registration of marriages will be other topics of review.
