BAJURA: As many as 537 people underwent eye checkup at Rs 20 per person in an eye camp organised at Tante Health Post in Budhiganga Municipality, Bajura district, on Saturday and Sunday.

According to the health coordinator of the municipality, Dipak Shah, the locals were happy to have received services from the eye camp, run in coordination of Geta Eye Hospital, Tante Health Post, District Health Office and Budhiganga Municipality. The two-day long camp saw eye-checkup services imparted by the doctors of Geta Hospital, informed Budhiganga Municipality.

Shah expressed that villagers, who could not afford eye treatment outside the district, were highly benefitted from the camp adding that they didn’t have to live with eye problems any longer.

Locals were overjoyed to receive treatment for only Rs 20, which otherwise would have cost them more than Rs 20,000 if they had to go to Dhangadi for treatment.

According to Geta Hospital eye specialist Pawan Shah, a total of 86 patients have undergone eye surgery, for which they each had to pay only Rs 20, compared to the cost of surgery at Geta Hospital which amounts to Rs 9,600.

The camp is being organised at the Bajura District Health Office on April 24 and 25 and in Kolti Primary Health Centre on April 26 and 27.
