Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal would undertake two foreign visits in the month of May.

Manohar Lal will be leading a high-level delegation to United Kingdom and Israel next month.

While in United Kingdom, he will discuss various issues of mutual interest including urban development, global city, aviation hub, infrastructure and agriculture, the Chief Minister will be attending Agri Summit and hold discussions on the implementation of bilateral programmes from May 8 to 10 in Israel.

During United Kingdom visit next month, Manohar Lal would also address Indian Diaspora in UK.

The Chief Minister, who had assumed power in October 2014 in Haryana, has so far undertaken four foreign tours.

The fourth foreign visit of the Chief Minister to Dubai last year had snowballed into a political controversy with the opposition accusing him of squandering public money on sightseeing trips abroad. Last year, the Chief Minister had also led a high level delegation to Singapore and Hong Kong in a bid to attract investments for Haryana.

Prior to this, Manohar Lal went for his first tour abroad to the US and Canada in August 2015 and in January 2016, he went to Japan and China to attract investments for the state.

During the BJP’s tenure, the Chief Minister and his cabinet has remained under fire for undertaking foreign tours which is in direct contravention of their government’s directive that public funds must not be misused.
