Stillborn: Case filed against pvt hosp

Tirupur: The city police registered case against a private hospital after relatives of a baby, which was born dead, alleged apathy in the treatment given on Monday.
K Viswanathan, a knitwear unit employee, admitted his wife Sangeetha at a private hospital on Uthukuli Road after she complained of labour pain. The 29-year-old delivered a baby girl, but the latter was declared dead immediately, the police sources said.

Sangeetha’s relatives felt that the baby dead because the medical team were lethargic while treating Sangeetha. They all staged a protest in front of North police station, following which; a case was registered against the hospital under Section 492 of IPC and 174 CrPC.
