TNCC chief accuses the Centre of discriminating against T.N.

Terming the government headed by Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami the weakest regime, Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) president Su. Thirunavukkarasar said that the progress of the State had come to a standstill due to the “inefficient and incompetent” administration.

Speaking to reporters here on Sunday on the sidelines of a meeting of district-level functionaries, he said that ever since the AIADMK government was reduced to a “minority”, it had been at the mercy of the BJP-led Centre to continue in office.

Taking advantage of the plight of the AIADMK government, the Centre had been pushing through its own policies and programmes, which were resisted by former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa when she was alive, the Congress leader said.

The Centre was following a “discriminatory approach” towards Tamil Nadu on various issues and the State government was not at all able to ensure the State’s rights on various issues, he claimed.

When asked about the absence of signatures of DMK members on the impeachment document against Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra, Mr. Thirunavukkarasar said the question should be addressed to the DMK leaders.
