An article in the AIADMK mouthpiece Namadhe Puratchi Thalaivi Amma has put forth a strong hint about an AIADMK-BJP alliance.

So much so that the article states that the two parties must work like a "double barreled gun" in Indian politics and that no one can "severe the ties" between them.

It goes on to say that the pathway is clear for the two parties to work together and the leadership should now chart out a roadmap for the same.

It further reads that the AIADMK and the BJP are working together to resolve the Cauvery issue at hand.

This article comes at a time when a united Opposition in the state has been intensifying its protests across Tamil Nadu for the state and the Centre to set up a Cauvery Management Board.

The article then slams the Opposition for seeking an appointment with the Prime Minister to resolve the Cauvery issue after trying to show him black flags when he visited the state.

MK Stalin, Working President of the DMK stated, "It is 100 per cent true that AIADMK and BJP are a double barrelled gun as both are involved in preventing giving NEET relief to Tamil Nadu as well as constituting the Cauvery Management Board".

However on questioning the AIADMK on whether they will join hands with the BJP, Jayakumar, TN Fisheries Minister said, "This is an individual opinion and not one the party endorses. The top brass of the party has to take decisions regarding alliances and they will do so during the elections".

This is not the first time that speculations over a probable alliance between the two parties have risen.

When the cabinet reshuffle was announced, even then there were rumors of the AIADMK joining hands with the NDA government.

The state Deputy CM also announced at a rally that the merger between the two fighting factions of the AIADMK took place only because of the Prime Minister.

The AIADMK still maintains that the article which appeared in the mouthpiece was solely an individual opinion and that any decision taken will be taken during elections by the party high command.
