Mike Brady will resign Thursday from the DeBary City Council, leaving an open seat.
The council is looking for residents interested in filling that spot until the end of the year to submit resumes and applications by 5 p.m. Thursday.
The council voted in a special meeting Wednesday to make the appointment on May 2.
Brady's four-term began in January 2015. An election is set for the term starting next January.
Brady said he's resigning because he and his family are moving to Sarasota.
"Please be advised that I have sincerely enjoyed my three-plus years as a member of the City Council and am grateful to everyone involved in my election and the successes of the city over the past 40 months," Brady said during the special meeting.
Applications are available at City Hall, 16 Colomba Road, and on the city's website.
