Hyderabad: BTech student runs car over man sleeping on pavement

HYDERABAD: In yet another case of drunken driving, a cobbler, sleeping on a footpath at Kushaiguda, died and another injured after a speeding Skoda Octavia car, driven by an inebirated BTech student ran over him.
One of the girl, who was seated inside the ill-fated car is Malakpet Inspector Gangi Reddy's daughter.



The acident took place around 12 AM on Monday and the cobbler has been identified as Ashok, who died on the spot, Kushaiguda police said.

There were four persons in the car and it is not sure who was driving the car at the time of the mishap. The four persons- I Pathi Reddy, K Srujana, B Amrutha and Harika Reddy- were inside the car. Three among the four were reportedly drunk, including Harika Reddy, daughter of Malakpet Inspector. All the four are engineering students.

During the mishap, Ashok who was sleeping on the road, died, while his son, who was nearby was also hit by the car. The injured was shifted to a hospital. Rachakonda police registered a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
