TO THE EDITOR:
Reading Gina McCarthy’s “On emissions rule, we got it right in 2012” (April 9), I find there is some truth to her comment about the current administration wanting to roll back a fair number of the previous administration’s policies.
However, in the interest of full disclosure, it should also be noted that the Obama administration never met a rule it didn’t like!
A careful review of those rules needs to be done, as complex, expensive-to-implement rules that accomplish little of their intent is what adds excessive cost for business and the consumer. If the rules are meeting their intent, great; if not, they should be repealed!
Both sides of the aisle are so blinded by the extreme ideology of their respective parties that time is wasted passing nonsensical legislation. Then more time is wasted undoing said nonsense!
What I can’t understand is, if everyone was just giddy over the rules, why were lobbyists at the White House asking for anything?
