The Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, AFSPA has been removed completely from Meghalaya. A Home Ministry official said, the AFSPA act, which empowers security forces to conduct operations and arrest anyone anywhere without prior notice, has been removed from all areas of Meghalaya from 31st of last month.
