Those wishing to honor former first lady Barbara Bush can stop at Coral Ridge Funeral Home and Cemetery in Cape Coral to sign a memorial book this week.
Bush died April 17 after declining treatment for unspecified medical conditions.
Dignity Memorial funeral home locations in southwest Florida will host memorial book signing events for community members to sign memorial books and share messages of condolence, remembrance and memoriam through Friday.
Bush was the wife of George H. W. Bush, the 41st president, and she served as first lady from 1989 to 1993, promoting literacy. She visited Lee County, vacationing in Boca Grande and attending the Celebration of Literacy.

At the Cape Coral site, about a dozen people had signed the book over the weekend.
"Dignity Memorial funeral homes are honored to provide the opportunity for members of our community to honor her memory and celebrate her life," a news release about the memorial book signings said.
