Landry tackles Texas for first PGA Tour win
SAN ANTONIO — Andrew Landry won the Valero Texas Open on Sunday for his first PGA Tour victory.
He shot a 4-under 68 for a two-stroke victory over Trey Mullinax and Sean O'Hair. Landry finished at 17-under 271.
More golf: Moriya Jutanugarn won the HUGEL-JTBC LA Open by two shots for her first victory in six years on the LPGA Tour. The 23-year-old shot a 3-under 68 to finish at 12-under 272. ... Kirk Triplett holed out from a bunker for birdie on the first playoff hole in the Bass Pro Shops Legends of Golf to lift himself and partner Paul Broadhurst past Bernhard Langer and Tom Lehman. ... Alexander Levy finished with a 2-under 70 to win the Trophee Hassan II in Morocco by a shot over Alvaro Quiros. It was Levy's fifth European Tour victory. Levy ended 8-under 280 overall, one ahead of Quiros, who closed with a second straight 72.
Auto racing: The Indy Grand Prix of Alabama has been postponed because of heavy rain. It will be completed Monday morning with a restart on Lap 23.
Marathon: The London Marathon featured a Kenyan double. Eliud Kipchoge swept to a third victory and Vivian Cheruiyot won the women's race. Kipchoge finished in 2 hours, 4 minutes, 27 seconds to add to his wins in the British capital in 2015 and 2016. Cheruiyot crossed the line in 2:18:31 seconds to win at her second attempt.
Tennis: Rafael Nadal won a record 31st Masters title after beating Kei Nishikori 6-3, 6-2 in the Monte Carlo Masters final. Nadal also became the first man in the Open era to win the same title 11 times and moved one ahead of rival Novak Djokovic for career Masters titles. ... Defending champion United States will play in a second consecutive Fed Cup final after defeating France. Madison Keys secured the decisive point for the visiting team by beating Pauline Parmentier 7-6 (4), 6-4 in the second reverse singles. Keys' victory gave the defending champions an unassailable 3-1 lead over France in their semifinal. The U.S. will play the Czech Republic in the final. Earlier, Sloane Stephens had given a 2-1 lead to the U.S. with a 6-2, 6-0 thrashing of Kristina Mladenovic.
