ECoR observes Railway Week

To commemorate the advent of the first train on the Indian soil in April 1853 between Bombay and Thane, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) observed the 63rd Railway Week here on Friday.

ECoR General Manager Umesh Singh lauded the railway men for the determination and devotion to their duties with a progressive attitude. The men should to continue their efforts to make ECoR the best zone in the Indian Railways, he urged. ECoR Senior DGM HK Dutta spoke about the importance of the Railway Week celebrations. Merit awards and shields were awarded to various officers and staffs for their outstanding performances.

The Waltair Division was awarded with the ‘Overall Efficiency Shield. While the Sambalpur station received the ‘Best major Clean Station Shield’ and Koraput station received the ‘Best Small Clean Station Shield’.

East Coast Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation (ECoRWWO) president Madhulika Singh, Additional GM Rajiv Sharma and Deputy GM Tatwadarsi Sahoo were present.
