President Ram Nath Kovind presents Gallantry Awards |

President Ram Nath Kovind today presented Gallantry Awards and Distinguished Service Decorations at the Defence Investiture Ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Mr Kovind conferred three Kirti Chakras and thirteen Shaurya Chakras to Armed Forces Personnel for displaying conspicuous gallantry, indomitable courage and extreme devotion to duty.
Two Kirti Chakras and two of the Shaurya Chakras were given posthumously.
Kirti Chakra has been given to Havildar Girish Gurung and Commandant Pramod Kumar posthumously. Major Preetam Singh Kunwar also honoured with Kirti Chakra.
Lance Naik Raghubeer Singh and Major Gosavi Kunal Munnagir have been honoured with Shaurya Chakras posthumously.
Sub Inspector Riyaz Alam Ansari, Havildar Rabindra Thapa, Subedar Shabir Ahmed are among those who received Shaurya Chakra.
The President also conferred thirteen Param Vishisht Seva Medals, two Uttam Yudh Seva Medals, two Bar to Ati Vishisht Seva Medals and twenty-six Ati Vishisht Seva Medals to senior officers of the Armed Forces for distinguished service of an exceptional order.
