The Columbus Metropolitan Library will open its new Hilliard branch at 4500 Hickory Chase Way on June 21, according to an announcement today, April 23.

The $15 million, 60,000-square-foot, two-story library will replace the 20,000-square-foot branch at 4772 Cemetery Road, which has been the library's Hilliard home since 1996.

The Cemetery Road branch will close at 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, in preparation for the move to the new branch, said Ben Zenitsky, a spokesman for the Columbus Metropolitan Library.

However, the drive-up book return will remain open, he said.

A dedication and grand opening at the new branch at Hickory Chase Way is scheduled for 3:30 to 6 p.m. June 21.
