NEW DELHI: Majority of realty stocks were trading with gains during afternoon trade on Monday.

The Nifty Realty index was trading 2.11 per cent up at 317 around 01:30 pm (IST).

Shares of Oberoi Realty (up 8.01 per cent) was the top gainer in the index.

It was followed by Godrej Properties (up 4.59 per cent), Brigade Enterprises (up 2.13 per cent), Prestige Estates Projects (up 1.10 per cent), Indiabulls Real Estate (up 1 per cent), DLF (up 0.88 per cent), Unitech (up 0.83 per cent) and Sobha (up 0.45 per cent).

Meanwhile, Housing Development & Infrastructure (down 1.62 per cent) and Phoenix Mills (down 0.39 per cent) were the two stocks in the realty index that were in the red around the same time.

Equity benchmarks were trading with gains on buying in all sectors. IT, bank, oil and auto stocks were catching investors' attention, whereas select metal and FMCG heavyweights including Hindalco, Coal India, Vedanta, Hindustan Unilever and ITC were experiencing the heat of selling.

The NSE Nifty50 index was up 64 points at 10,628, while the BSE Sensex was up 180 points at 34,595.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 33 were trading in the green, while 17 were in the red.

IndusInd Bank, HCL Tech, TCS, Tech Mahindra and Mahindra & Mahindra were among the top gainers in the Nifty index.

However, Grasim, Hindalco, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Bharti Infratel and UPL were among the top losers in the Nifty pack.
