Market Update: CNX IT pulls Nifty higher led by TCS; IndusInd Bank top gainer; NIIT zooms 11%

The market breadth was in favour of the advances with 997 stocks advancing while 679 declined and 377 remained unchanged. On the other hand, in the BSE, 1394 stocks advanced and 1079 declined and 146 remained unchanged.

The Indian equity market was trading on a positive note on Monday afternoon with the Nifty gaining 60 points was trading at 10,624 while the Sensex was up 162 points or 0.47 percent.

CNX IT outperformed in the afternoon trade and was up 2 percent led by Tata Elxsi which jumped over 4 percent while TCS, Tech Mahindra and HCL Tech added over 3 percent each. Mindtree and KPIT Tech were the other gainers.

Bank Nifty also managed to trade on a positive note with IndusInd Bank adding 3.5 percent while Yes Bank gained 2.5 percent. Canara Bank and Kotak Mahindra Bank were the other gainers.

CNX Energy was also trading in the green led by BPCL and HPCL which added 1-2 percent while Reliance Industries gained over 1 percent.

The top Nifty gainers included IndusInd Bank which was up 3.5 percent followed by HCL Tech, Tech Mahindra and TCS which added over 3 percent each. Yes Bank was the other Nifty gainer.

The most active Nifty stocks included Tata Consultancy Services which added  3 percent followed by Mindtree, HDFC Bank, Infosys and NIIT Tech.

The top Nifty losers were Grasim Industries, Hindalco Industries, Bharti Infratel, Hindustan Unilever and ICICI Bank.

The top BSE gainers included NIIT which zoomed over 11 percent while NIIT, L&T Infotech gained close to 10 percent. NIIT Tech, Max Finanical and Oberoi Realty were the other gainers.

47 stocks hit fresh 52-week high including TCS, Ashok Leyland, Firstsource, Hexaware Tech, Mastek, NIIT Tech, Pidilite, Tata Elxsi, M&M and Tech Mahindra among others.
