Maize futures ease on weak physical cues

Market players said traders were like to reducing their bets amidst slackness in demand for poultry feed makers against ample stocks in the spot markets, which weighed on futures.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, delivery for June contracts fell by Rs 12, or 0.97 per cent, to Rs 1,219 per quintal, with an open interest of 2,240 lots.

Most-traded May contract delivery also fell by Rs 5, or 0.41 per cent, to Rs 1,200 per with an open interest of 2,890 lots.
