Gwendolyn (Gwen) Elaine Reddick Booker, 67, of Ambridge, Pa., peacefully entered into rest on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, surrounded by family. Born October 3, 1950, in Sylvester, Ga., she was the twelfth of thirteen children born to the late Reverend Roosevelt and Beatrice Reddick. In addition to her parents, Gwen was preceded in death by three brothers, David, Eddie, and Samuel Reddick and four sisters, Delores Anderson, Pauline Sanford, Thelma Green and Irene Jackson. She leaves treasured memories of her smile, soprano, laughter, humor, gentleness, compassion, and love to be cherished by her daughter, Aisha M. Corey) Sligh; grandchildren, Travonte' M.E. Sligh, Daiquan Dyshere Reddick, Keiziya Anubia Sligh, and Nazim Olijawon Sligh; great-grandson Tariq My Elijah Sligh; sisters, Mildred (Eugene) Fields, Mary Green, Carolyn Davis (Philadelphia, Pa.), Verdice (Chester) Rogers (District Heights, Md.) and brother, Perry (Bernice) Reddick (Ambridge); many cousins, nephews, nieces, as well as spiritual sisters and childhood friends, Ann Thigpen, Betty Dixon, Dorothy McCrommon, Gloria Palmer, Kathy Riley, Lorraine Shipp, LuAnne, Noel Wilson, Sharon Sligh, Teet Stevenson, and Vonnie Dixon. Friends will be received Tuesday, April 24, 2018, from 12:00 p.m. until celebration at 1:00 p.m. in the Greater Dominion Church of the Millennium, 415 Melrose Avenue, Ambridge, PA 15003, Bishop Kenneth Crumb, Sr., officiating. The BOHN-MATICH FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1099 Maplewood Ave., Ambridge, was in charge of arrangements.
