Karlovy Vary Film Festival, known to be one of the oldest in the world, will pay tribute to Oscar-winning director Milos Forman while opening its 53rd edition with a screening of 'Loves of a Blonde' on June 29.
The 1965 classic is based on the life of a small town girl who falls in love with a pianist but they part ways after spending a night together. Unable to forget him, she arrives at his home only to find the bitter side of her lover.
The event will include an opening-night concert where the Czech National Symphony Orchestra will play music from some of his other famous films, including 'The Fireman's Ball', 'Taking Off', 'Valmont', 'Amadeus and Hair', unveiled Hollywood Reporter.
Forman died at the age of 86 on April 13.
Forman made his debut in 1954, but his legendary status was cemented with 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest', a film about a psychiatric institution, and 'Amadeus', his biopic of composer Mozart. Both of these films won 13 Oscars.
Renowned American indie director and producer Richard Linklater will attend the festival as part of homage to the nonprofit Austin Film Society.
Casey Affleck, who was the recipient last year of the festival's President's Award, will appear in the new festival trailer.
