Woman confronts robbers laced with weapons

Ludhiana(DP Correspondent) – A woman has confronted robbers laced with weapons in Prem nagar on Monday afternoon. However the accused posing as employees of Cable Company managed to take away Jewellery worth one lakh from the house of woman. Due to daredevil act of woman the accused threw away bag containing 8.58 lakh cash.On being informed the division number 2 Police have reached the spot and initiated investigation in the case. The Police have recovered bag containing cash and the weapons which the accused threw before leaving. The police have registered case against unidentified persons.According to information, Lalita Kapoor,  wife of financer Kingpal was at home along with her eight year old daughter. She informed police that in afternoon some persons knocked the door and when she opened the door the accused introduced themselves employees of Cable Company and came to check the setup box.

She alleged that the accused barged into the house and sprayed some liquid on her and she lost conscious. The accused also sprayed the same liquid on her daughter and she saved her face with a piece of cloth.She further alleged that the accused take away cash and Jewellery from the Almirah. She said that she regain conscious and raise an alarm. In a meantime the neighbors also came and the accused fled from the house. As she was chasing the accused, the robbers threw bag containing cash and weapons in the street but manage to take jewellery. Assistant Commissioner of Police Mandeep Singh said that it seems that accused were known to family as they took away cash from almirah very easily. The accused also know that the head of the family was not at home. The Police is investigating the matter from all angles and also scanning the CCTV cameras installed in the area.
