Capita loss widens; to issue 1 billion new shares

Capita PLC (CPI.LN) said Monday that it plans to raise 701 million pounds ($981.4 million) in a rights issue, and reported a widened pretax loss for 2017. The company said it would issue 1 billion new shares at an issue price of 70 pence per share, a 56% discount to its April 20 closing price. Capita said it will use the proceeds of the fundraising to deliver on its new strategy, to make further investments in the business, and to pay down debt.

Capita to cut reliance on U.K. in overhaul: report

--Capita PLC (CPI.LN) is planning to cut its reliance on Britain and expand overseas as part of a strategic overhaul that is expected to be announced next month, the Financial Times reports. --The paper says the company will make the announcement, together with a heavily discounted 700 million-pound ($977 million) rights issue and its delayed 2017 accounts, citing sources close to the board.

Capita suspends final dividend, plans share issue

Capita PLC (CPI.LN) said Wednesday that, as part of a business-transformation plan, it will suspend its final dividend, and that it has plans in place for a share issue to raise funds. The outsourced-services company said that in light of the difficulties the business is experiencing, it is suspending its final dividend for 2017.
