Human remains found at Summers County campground

UPDATE as of 8:45 PM: Troopers with the Hinton detachment for West Virginia State Police tell 59 News the body found was a male.

Troopers said there are two tattoos that could help identify the man. One is a tribal tattoo on the right upper arm, and the other is a quote on the right rib cage, abdomen area that reads "Dying Breed".

Troopers said the body was found in the Greenbrier River at Rocky Bottom Campground.

No word yet if foul play is suspected in this case.

FOREST HILL, W. Va. (WVNS) — West Virginia State Police are investigating after human remains are found at a campground in Summers County.

Dispatch confirmed the remains were discovered at the Rocky Bottom Campground in Forest Hill.

Dispatchers said the call came in just after 4 p.m. Sunday, April 22nd, 2018. They said a person at the campground made the call, and told dispatchers they had found something strange.

A medical examiner is on their way to the scene. Troopers are on scene investigating the incident.
