Bharti Infra profit rises 1.57% in Q4

Bharti Infratel’s profit after tax (PAT) rose 1.57% to ₹606 crore for the quarter ended March. Revenue increased 4% to ₹3,662 crore from a year earlier.

For the full year, PAT for the mobile tower firm declined 9.22% to ₹2,493.7 crore, while revenues rose 8% to ₹14,489.6 crore.

“The year... saw unprecedented consolidation in the Indian telecom industry with five operators ceasing to exist. Our company saw loss of 22,134 co-locations on this account during the year,” chairman Akhil Gupta said.

He added, “We believe that with rapidly growing data demand which would require large network rollouts, we are poised for a strong potential in the coming years. We are fully prepared to exploit this and meet all requirements of our customers for speedy rollouts.”

The company had a total tower base of 91,451 at the end of March 2018.

The board recommended a dividend of ₹14 per share for the year ended March 2018.

The shares of the company, which announced results after market hours, closed at ₹328.40 a piece, a decline of 0.94% from its previous close on the BSE.
