A special court today extended BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s bail till May 10 in Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case.

The BNP chief was not produced before the court on health ground, while Judge Md Akhteruzzaman of Dhaka Special Judge Court-5 passed the order. The court also fixed May 10 for the next hearing in the case.

Earlier on April 5, the court extended Ms Zia’s bail in the Zia Charitable Trust graft case till today.

On February 8, Khaleda Zia, the BNP chairperson and the former prime minister, was convicted and awarded five years’ imprisonment in the graft case.
