Massive cleanliness drive launched across country to make Ganga water clean, potable

A massive Ganga cleanliness campaign was launched by the volunteers of the socio-cultural organisation Gayatri Teerth, Shantikunj on Sunday in Haridwar and in other rivers across the country. The volunteers cleaned the Ganga ghats from Ganga Kutir to Jwalapur area on both sides of the river. It was a sight to behold with yellow clad volunteers from Shantikunj, Muskan

Foundation, Brahmvarchas Shodh Sansthan, Gayatri Vidyapeeth and Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya students and staff members forming a human chain cleaned the poylthene and other solid waste from the Ganga river.

Speaking to this correspondent, the head of All World Gayatri Pariwar, Pranav Pandya said, “Our volunteers cleaned 50 ghats in the holy city through a stretch of 20 kilometres and thousands of volunteers across the country cleaned the ganga river stretch of 2525 kms near human habitation.

The drive was also carried out in other rivers across the country. We hope to make Ganga water clean and worth drinking by 2026.” From an eight year old to 85 year old octogenarian, volunteers participated in the drive, added Pandya.
