Two employees of a Wilmington CVS pharmacy were knocked to the ground as they attempted to flee a robbery attempt early Friday morning, the Delaware State Police said.

The DSP is investigating the robbery that took place at approximately 2:51 a.m. Friday at the CVS at 4020 Concord Pike in Wilmington.

Police say two suspects confronted an employee working behind the pharmacy counter and demanded drugs.

Police say as soon as the employee was confronted, he alerted two other employees, at which time all three fled the store on foot. As they exited the front doors, they were confronted by a third suspect who was waiting outside.

According to the DSP release, the third suspect attempted to contain the three subjects within the store but they were able to escape but not before two of them were knocked to the ground.

All employees were able to get away without sustaining any injuries, police say.

Further investigation determined that the two suspects who entered the business were able to obtain an undetermined amount of drugs before exiting the store. Once outside all three suspects re-united and were last seen fleeing on foot, southbound on Concord Pike, the DSP release said.

Suspect one, who entered the CVS, was described as a black man wearing all dark clothing. He was 18-25 years of age, 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10 and weighed between 170-180 lbs.

Suspect three was said to be a black man, 18-25 years of age, 6-foot-0 to 6-foot-2 and weighing 200 to 230 lbs. The man, who stayed outside during the incident, is said to have a large build, and was wearing a black hoodie and light colored pants.
