WINFIELD — The Pittsburg Boys’ Tennis team finished second in a field of eight teams at the Winfield Invitational on Friday. Pittsburg scored 40 points, 16 points below first place Maize South.

Pittsburg’s Devin McAfee came in second in No. 1 singles, with wins against Maize South (8-4) and Wichita Campus (8-3) before being defeated by Winfield (8-3).

Purple Dragons No. 2 singles player Dakota Caudle came in seventh, defeating Derby (8-1) and Newton (8-5) but falling to Winfield and Maize South.

No. 1 doubles’ James Richey and Pat Sullivan finished 2-2, including wins against Winfield (8-2) and Independence (8-2), to finish in sixth. No. 2 doubles Noah Kangas and David Green came in 14th after going 1-3.
