CHANDIGARH: Punjab govt has released the amount of Rs 112.78 crore under Aashirwad scheme which is given at the time of the marriage of girls belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes families. Disclosing this here on Sunday, Welfare Minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot said that the state government has released the amount of one year from the pending a He also said that the amount of Rs 15,000 from December 2016 to June 2017 and Rs 21,000 from July to December, 2017 has been released to 65,377 beneficiaries on per beneficiary basis.

Detailing more, the minister said that under the scheme, Rs 11.44 crore has been released for 6676 girls of SC/BC families of Amritsar, Rs 2.7 crore for 1,185 girls of Barnala, Rs 4.59 crore for 2,664 girls of Bathinda, Rs 2.8 crore for 1,188 girls of Faridkot, Rs 2.71 crore for 1,556 girls of Fatehgarh Sahib, for 4,019 girls of Jalandhar and Rs 3.13 crore for 1828 girls of Kapurthala.
