It seemed like it was only a matter of time before we saw blood in the 76ers-Heat series.

Ben Simmons and Philadelphia held off Miami 106-102 in a Game 4 that saw Heat forward Justise Winslow need four stitches to close a bloody cut above his left eye. The 76ers trailed by as many as 12 in the third quarter before rallying and once again putting the game away in the fourth.

After coming close in the first three games of the series, Simmons notched his first career playoff triple triple-double with 17 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists. Simmons is the fifth rookie in league history with a playoff triple-double and the first rookie since Lakers legend Magic Johnson in 1980.

J.J. Redick had 24 points, and Joel Embidd added 14 points, 12 rebounds and five blocks. The 76ers will take a 3-1 series lead back to Philadelphia for Game 5 on Tuesday and a chance to clinch their first series victory since 2012.

"They don't let you off the hook," said Dwyane Wade. "You make one mistake, or you take your foot off the gas for one second, they make you pay."

Wade scored 25 points and Goran Dragic had 20 for the Heat, who took their biggest lead of 76-64 with just over six minutes left in the third quarter.

Just as they did in their first two wins of the series, though, the 76ers took care of business late. They rallied to within four by the end of the third quarter, then outscored the Heat 27-19 in the fourth. Philadelphia outscored Miami 40-25 in the fourth quarter of Game 1, and 32-14 in Game 3.

"We took care of business," said Embiid.

The 76ers hurt themselves with 27 turnovers and 22.6% shooting from three-point range, but they cleaned things up when they needed to and had just three turnovers in the fourth quarter.

"I'm shocked we won this game," Philadelphia coach Brett Brown said. "We didn't deserve to win this game."

After the series took a chippy turn in Game 3, things remained feisty on Saturday.

Winslow left the game late in the second quarter with a bloody cut above his eye after colliding with Embiid during a scrum for a loose ball. After several players dove on the court, Winslow emerged with blood trickling down the left side of his face.

Winslow offered a hand to Embiid and helped the Philly big man up off the court. Heat forward Josh Richardson remained down on the floor and appeared to injure his shoulder on the play.

Things remained heated after the loose ball, with a hard foul at the other end leading to players from both teams jawing and shoving one another. Simmons and Heat forward James Johnson were each assessed a technical foul.

Heat coach Erik Spoelstra called it "physical, competitive basketball."

Winslow and Richardson both went to the locker room after the scrum. Winslow came back to the bench before halftime but did not return to the game until after the break. Richardson also returned in the second half despite a left shoulder contusion.

Embiid and Winslow were at the center of controversy in Game 3. Embiid returned from an orbital fracture wearing a high-tech face mask. After the mask fell off at one point, Winslow appeared to intentionally step on it. Winslow was fined $15,000 by the NBA on Friday for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Embiid promised he was "going to be a nightmare" for the Heat for the rest of the series. Now he and the 76ers are one more win from sending the Heat home for a summer of nightmares.

"We've got to finish it," said Simmons.
