Nagpur: Sunday evening saw music enthusiasts making their way to Scientific Society Hall, Laxmi Nagar, to enjoy hit Bollywood numbers presented by passionate singers of Swapnagandha music group during ‘Nagme Raahon Ke’.
The theme was travelling and the show put up by a bunch of six singers reminded the crowd of their fancy road trips, wanderlust on the highways, cozy train cabins, serene nature walks, tall waterfalls and more.
Indian Idol 2 fame Yashashree Bhave was the attraction during the show and she was successful in striking a chord with those present with her flawless singing. She left the audience spellbound as she sung Lata Mangeshkar’s number ‘Jiya jale’ from ‘Dil Se’, creating an ambience as refreshing as the river water filmed in the song.
Yashashree also depicted the cheerfulness of the character ‘Ankira’ played by Anushka in ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ during her performance on ‘Jiya jiya re’.
The playlist comprised peppy numbers like ‘Hoga tumse pyaara kaun’, ‘Hawa ke sath sath’, ‘Tumko jo dekhte hi pyaar hua’, ‘Sare sheher mein’ and lighthearted ones like ‘Raat baki’, ‘Dil deewana’ and other songs.
Yashashree told TOI, “The love and affection received on the home ground always give a special feeling. The Swapnagandha troupe is very warm at heart and I feel delighted to collaborate with it,” she said.
Singer Ajay Deshpande said, “Creative filmmakers of Indian cinema have shot a lot of songs at unexplored destinations. Music and travel give a sense of oneness and touch souls. We thought about the theme to connect with the music lovers and relate with that particular moment in their lives which is close to their heart.” After getting comfortable during the course of travel, most of the people hum their favourite melodies to sit back and relax. So, music and journey go hand in hand, he added.
The other singers were Smita Dongaonkar, Prakash Deshpande, Maya Saikhedkar, Sameer Upadhyay and Nikita Joshi. The programme concluded with a mesmerizing group song ‘Yuhi kat jayega safar’.
