Cong govt left future of thousands of JBT teachers in dark: Saini

DW BUREAU / Chandigarh

Accusing former minister and Congress MLA Randeep Singh Surjewala of playing cheap politics, Haryana Minister of State for Labour and Employment Nayab Singh Saini has said the Congress government had left the future of thousands of JBT teachers in the dark, but the BJP government made their future better.

Terming the protest by Mr Surjewala in Panchkula as a ‘nautanki’ in the name of the future of youth, the Minister said it was ridiculous that such people, who had played part-time politics in the state and never performed, were speaking about the interests of Haryana.

In the Vidhan Sabha, public representatives normally raise issues concerning the people of their respective areas, but Mr Surjewala does not bother to attend the House. At the mercy of the Gandhi family to save his political fortunes, he comes to Haryana just to remain in media headlines. Before accusing the BJP, the Congress should introspect what kind of misdeeds its government did during its tenure, he added.

Coming down heavily on Congress, Mr Saini said leaders who were protesting now for the sake of youth, seem to have forgotten how they had spoiled the system by showing disrespect to qualified youth.

During the reign of Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda, officers were appointed at the CM’s residence for making lists of appointments and giving jobs to undeserving candidates on the basis of the slips given by the Congress leaders.

Names of candidates who would be recruited and their relations with Congress leaders used to hit the headlines, months before the recruitment was done. When results came, same names figured in the selection list. Why the Congress remained silent then, he asked.
